Each week, our facilitators host three days of lessons for a group of 10-12 children. While building literacy and English fluency, the students interact with facilitators through a dynamic and active lesson, which helps kids envision themselves as the leaders they are destined to become.

Encouraging English fluency through creative expression

ALF’s Bilingual Literacy Program impacts students by offering children a chance to explore who they are through well-planned lessons, reading, and enriched teaching skills. This 12-week program comes together by bringing cohorts of children together multiple times a week in their community under the guidance of a trained literacy teacher. Student progress is monitored through weekly tracking, and achievement for the program is rewarded upon completion. Through this special collaboration, ALF instills the importance of English literacy in the minds of our future leaders.

  • What Impact has the Story Hour at The Abundant Life Foundation had on me?

““I am so excited to be part of this great program that will help the kids in my community to have better learning skills. On day three of the program there were new kids showing up and asking for work to do, eager and excited to share the space and work group. By the second week parents were coming to the center asking if they could send their kids to join program- this made me feel proud. The kids in the program gladly show up, engaged and look forward to that time, even with the constant reminders to wear their masks”.”
